Contemplative Tea, Intentional Experience

Sunny is the day when the heart if full and the mind is calm. My husband and sat down to have our usual tea together. The sun is shining through our south facing front door with the Brushy Mountains carrying their fall leaves.  Tea has become a mindful practice for us. Our daughter is asleep, and we’re enjoying the “Competition Grade Laoshan“, a green tea from Yunnan Sourcing . Our session was quick but intentional to bring awareness to our senses. The smell, taste, feel of tea is something we are wanting to experience, the nuances. It forces us to slow down and listen. A contemplative practice.

Our tea set is arranged on our coffee table in the living room for Gong Fu style. It looks so pretty. I paused for a moment saying, “This is like an Instagram moment.”.  John saying back to me, knowing how I struggle with being a small business owner and not knowing how to engage social media,

“Just having the experience, you are sharing it with the world”.

There is freedom in just being present in a moment. I savored my moment of mindfulness, and resisted to share through Instagram (until now) . The vibration of our being in the moment is shared with a kind of collective unconscious. Quality of presence is considered.

“Just having the experience, you are sharing it with the world”
